... How do you stay fit?Excellent question but I don't have a secret formula, magic potion or that one super-duper tip to whip you into shape overnight. Even though I'm a personal trainer and yoga instructor it's hard work people! They don't call it 'working out' for nothing. You need to put in time at the gym, or find a sport you like or just get outside. You also need to chose to eat healthier foods and try not to eat to the point of bursting; but most importantly you need to start taking better care of yourself.
And that's the real skinny on getting fit and staying healthy - it's about shifting gears in your mind. Take a close look and scrutinize your lifestyle. I bet you will find things in your life - daily routines that set you up to fail yourself. Many people do not take care of themselves plain and simple. They'll take care of everyone around them from their partners, family, children, bosses and friends and leave no energy whatsoever to take care of their own needs.
Ask yourself: how do you balance an insane work schedule (let's face it-most of us are overworked), busy home life, time with friends, errands (usually a list as long as your arm) with 'me' time.
Grab your calendar, palm pilot or whatever game plan you got going on for your daily grind and schedule in fitness. It doesn't matter if it's an appointment with a trainer, a fitdate with a friend or simply getting out for a walk -- pencil it in. It's an appointment you make with yourself. And chances are pretty good you'll actually keep this 'appointment' if it's deemed worthy enough to be blocked off in your schedule.
Try it. It works.
